THE BRAND
Marzo is a Belgian-Brazilian design label creating clothing, leather goods and objects.
Inspired by the places we carry with us and the spaces we inhabit, the brand transforms memories, architecture and atmosphere into contemporary forms.
Designed and handmade in Antwerp, each piece is created in small quantities and intended to be lived with for years.
THE DESIGNER
Simone Queiroz Carvalho
Born in Castanhal, in northern Brazil, and educated in Antwerp, Simone Queiroz Carvalho combines Brazilian sensibility with Belgian craftsmanship.
Her background spans Fashion and Costume Design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and a specialisation in Leather Craftsmanship at Antwerp’s oldest leatherworking school. Together, these disciplines established the foundation of a design practice rooted in material knowledge, construction and timeless design.
Inspired by the tropical light of northern Brazil and the architectural heritage of Antwerp, she explores the relationship between form, material and space.
Through Marzo, she translates these influences into clothing, leather goods and objects designed with longevity, craftsmanship and enduring elegance at their core.
CRAFTMANSHIP
Every Marzo piece begins in the atelier.
Ideas are explored through sketches, patterns and prototypes before gradually taking shape. Throughout the process, proportions are adjusted, structures are refined and details are carefully reconsidered.
Working in small quantities allows space for experimentation and precision, ensuring that each object develops its own character before reaching its final form.
The result is a collection shaped through making, where design evolves through a continuous dialogue between idea, hand and object.
